Extreme Jeep Fest 2008

Yesterday, July 13th, I went to the First Annual Extreme Jeep Fest, in McHenry Illinois. Turned out to be a pretty good day.

I went by myself. I tried to get my buddy Jay to go, but his wife had things for him to do...

It was only 62 degrees when I left home, just after 8am. I actually needed a sweat shirt...no top you know.

I met a few fellow jeepers, saw some nice rigs, and got a pretty good burn on the old noggin! Should have used sunscreen! I tell you what, all that sun will suck the life right out of you. I was ready for a nap when I got home....but I didn't get one.

Here's the link to the gallery of photos I took.

I took the day off today, for no particular reason. I did my first 5-tire rotation since getting the TrXus MT 33x12.5's. Oddly enough I still have none of the balance issues some report. Good for me I guess... These tires are great.

I ordered a new DynoMax catback exhaust today. The current exhaust isn't doing anything but taking up space now. Too loud for me. Probably robbing me of power too.

Only one week left until another offroad trip...to the Badlands, in Attica Indiana!

On April 27th, 2008 the wife and I celebrated 12 years of marriage, by offroading at the Badlands, in Attica Indiana. This was her first trip offroad in the YJ.

We met up with the guys and gals of the Jeeps Gone Wild Extreme Offroad Club, which I just joined. This was an open event, so non-members joined us as well.

The weather was great, and the crowd was down. There were 15 Jeeps in our group. I didn't see another group as large as ours.

We ran Kevin's Trail, The Creek, and the Orange Trail. We also spent some time playing in the quarry.

This was my first trip with the Aussie Locker installed in the D30. It made things I had done before easier, and gave me the confidence to try other things I wouldn't have without it.

I have a trail report and pictures posted here.

I'm already counting the days until my next trip.
