Reflections...Part I

OK so once upon a time I was going to start writing some memoirs or something like it. You know something for the grandkids to eventually read. I'm sure I'll get to finish someday, but here's how it starts. It's called:
"Reflections...Memoirs of ______________. (Haven't figured that part out yet LOL)

OK, we all know what happens in the start of most everyone's life. Your parents meet and eventually have sex, with or without a condom or birth control, and sometimes a kid appears 9 months later. In this case, the condom my parents used wasn't 100% effective, so wah-lah, here I am. I'm not going to bore you with a complete background, because well that's just too much to write. So, here's a quick one.

I was born on September 30, 1979 while my family was living in Jersey City, NJ. I was the first girl born with the last name "Sobi****", so right off the bat, I was "daddy's little girl" and the most precious gift to my two older brothers....well at least that's what I tell them anyway. My Mom was so happy to finally have the little girl she always wanted. She was always dressing me up and doing my hair and all that other girlie stuff and when I started school at PS 24, I quickly became known as the best dressed little girl in school according to all of the teachers. Pretty cool, huh? Right.

Anyway, when I was around 4 years old, my Uncle had gotten really ill with Cancer. There was no one around to take care of him, so my family made the decision at his request, to move into his house in Bogota, NJ, so that my Mom could basically be his nurse. I started a new school year there and quickly made a lot of friends. I remember toward the end of my Uncle's life, my Mom was with him every moment of the day. And since my Dad was always "working," I spent more and more time with my brothers and my friends after school. Now I'm not saying that my Mom and Dad never spent time with me because they did. However, I was becoming more independent and at such a young age even while my Mom was still trying to teach me things that a "lady" should and shouldn't do, my attention was focused on the cool and interesting things that my brothers were doing. If they were working on a car, I was handing them a wrench. If they were playing football, I was snapping the ball. Next thing they knew, the little girl of the family had more boy friends than girl friends and I guess it seemed to them as if I had turned into a tomboy almost overnight.........

TO BE CONTINUED.......
