I read my owners manual for my new 08 wrangler and it says you must remove the soft top assembly if not in use and your using the hard top option Due to rubbing and wear on the soft top while it is attached to the jeep. Seems they ship them this way to make it easy for shipping then the customer decides which top they want to keep on the jeep Look it up in your owners manual You will need a number 40 torx socket (1/4 drive is sufficient ) ( not enough room to tighten or untighten the factory torx bolts with a torx screw driver ) and you will need a friend to help lift the rear roof off They are not that heavy BUT they are bulky and you could scratch your new jeep accidently Good Luck and enjoy

When you get the dual top option, both tops are on. You can live them both On but once unwrap the software takes a lot of space. you will never get it back as tight as when off the factory. Also, the manual mentions you should only have one roof on at a time (no reason why). Still, the answer is YES you can have both top on.
