So this is my daily driver, and I've put nearly 20,000 miles on it since I got
it last May. This was bound to happen eventually. I pretty much figured I'd
hit a deer or lose control and roll over or something, but my first damage was a
bump from behind. (never even saw it coming, you might say)
My first thought was to go look at the other guys car. I've read so much on here
about what happens when newer cars run into some raw steel. I had the hitch
back on for York, and I'm glad for that. I hadn't gotten the bumperettes
re-installed though. It probably would have been better for the other vehicle
if I had.
As it turned out, my right rear got pushed a little. The other guys hood was
buckled from my spare and he got a big 2 inch receiver shaped hole punched in
the plastic bumper cover. I feel a little bad, I hope his insurance covers all
of the about $800 damage he just did to his car. I'm just gonna hit mine with
a mallet this weekend. I guess this answers the question I've been wondering
about.....not really everyone is staring at me and my Jeep in awe and wonder
everywhere I go. I feel that special in my Jeep, but I guess some other people
don't notice me at all!
