Hello everyone.....I just created a new group called the Dirty South Jeepers! I am trying to get the group up and going because I would like to meet some new people around my neck of the woods. I just added myself to a few groups, but i wanted to create on for me and other jeepers for the "South". Plus i wanted to be able to maybe link up with some folks to get a ride together and to be notified of rides, events, etc. Thanks everyone and join today...

A Hamlet Parody of Jeeps

I wrote this for my english class because we are studying Hamlet, by William Shakespeare. It is based on when Hamlet is alone and gives his "To be, or not to be" speech. Our assginment was to make a parody out of the speech and of course, I chose to write it about Jeeps.

I thought those of you who know the play of Hamlet would like it.

To Jeep, or not to Jeep – that is the question:
Whether ‘tis nobler to the wallet to suffer
The breaks and upgrades of a relentless hobby
Or to take arms against a sea of work to be done
And by opposing end them. To ride, to enjoy –
No more – and by a ride to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural trails
That mud is heir to. ‘Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To ride, to enjoy –
To enjoy – perchance to get stuck: ay, there’s the rub,
For in that Jeep 4x4 what dreams may come
When we have gotten stuck off the beaten path,
Must give us pause. There’s the respect
That makes calamity of so many miles.
For who could bear the mud and rocks of the trail,
Th’ Toyota’s wrong, the Fords found dead,
The long and winding roads, the countless rocks,
The insolence of the fellow Jeeper, and the spurns
Of a broken axle shaft or busted shock takes,
When he himself might his Jeep’s quietus make
With a blown engine? Who would those bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary Jeep,
But that the dread of something after Jeep,
The undiscovered vehicle, from whose bourn
No Jeeper returns, and it is ended.

Why Yes, Owning a Jeep DOES Get You More Attention...

...especially if you have a six-speaker VDP sound-bar.

So I suppose I should start this story as most stories begin, at the beginning. I mean, I could start in the middle, where the exciting bit was, but then you might not know what's happening. I could also start at the beginning, skip to the end, and then go to the middle to make sure you read all the way to the end, but that might be even more confusing.
So, here it goes.
The beginning:
I was walking to my Jeep after school. I began to take the top down as I usually do when it's too cold in the morning to drive topless, and too hot in the afternoon to keep it up. I noticed some people lounging around next to their cars in the spots next to mine. I ask, "You need some help, or are you just hangin' around?"
The Middle:
They were just hangin' out. They began to talk amongst themselves about speakers. So I causally state "I have eight"
Which I do.
This immediately grabbed their attention because they liked to think of themselves as the loudest kids in the parking lot. I quickly continued "but my head-unit sucks," (which it does) to make sure their ego wasn't further damaged by not only not being the loudest kids around, but by, more importantly, not driving a Jeep (which I assume they were especially upset about).
So these kids come over and begin giving my Jeep a look; they were extremely interested. One continually remarked "Man, I love your Jeep." I just smiled, nodded, and got that fuzzy feeling inside we all get when we know we know somebody is lusting after something you have (well, except maybe your wife/girlfriend).
The End:
I drove home, topless and listening to my music
