The wife turns 40 on Monday so we are flying to Florida and catching a cruise ship to the Bahamas for a week... Perfect timing since the temps are dropping and the weatherman is talking about snow!!! We can't wait for some warmth...

So I'm going to the big York Pa Jeep show this weekend... I'm really excited and look forward to a great weekend of offroading fun...
I decided to show my Jeep in a trophy class for the first time... I don't know why I thought I could be a contender since my rig definately shows her offroading scars!!! So anyway I cleaned her like she's never been cleaned before... The power washer released mud from days gone by and a good coat of wax actually brought back a shine that doesn't look half bad!!! I detailed the engine, tires & wheels, and the under body... I cleaned the windows and couldn't believe that I could see again!!!
Lo and Behold, after all my labor intensive efforts, I have to admit it looks pretty good...
Chances are the judges won't look twice at my Jeep, but at least I can say she made the show...
Only problem now is that as good as it looks, I can't wait to get it dirty again!!!

Yippee!!! I got home from work today and took the hard top off... Though NJ has been hot/cold/sunny/rainy/windy lately, I just felt it was time, even overdue... Putting the soft top on made me feel good and hopefully it will bring some better weather around here!!!

I haven't blogged in awhile so I thought I'd touch base... I've been sick all weekend, layed up in bed really feeling like crap!!! Finally went to the doctors today and he said I have a upper respirtory infection... It figures since the weather is getting nice and I catch this cold...
Anyway, I feel like I got hit by a bus so I hope these antibiotics work fast!!! I took the day off from work which reminds me how bad daytime TV really sucks!!! Off to bed I go, thanks for listening....

Since I started collecting coins about 35 years ago, it always amazed me what you can still find out there... Yesterday my daughter, who works at Cumberland Farms, (a local convienience store} called me to say if I wanted a 1923 Peace dollar, a Bicentennial dollar, a 1946 liberty half dollar and a 1963 Franklin half dollar... She said some kid brought them in and spent them on soda!!! I figure the kid probably raided his dads collection for spare change!!! Anyway, I got them, they were in near mint condition... Sure beats the occasional wheat penny...LOL

Stacy turned 39 yesterday and we decided to spend the day in Lancaster Pa. (Amish Country)
for which we both really enjoy... We had a blast at this county auction that had everything from livestock to crafts to antiques... We spent half the day at the auction and won some pretty neat things...
Then we went to the Shady Maple Market and and hit up the butcher shop... Picked up some good deals on some awesome cuts of meat...
I even scored some smoked salmon that I could eat like candy!!! After that, we enjoyed a really good meal at one of the local restaurants and headed home after a full day... She said it was a great birthday and thats all that matters to me!!!

I guess I should'nt complain compared to you guys in the midwest and up north but man it was really cold for this area today... I think the older I get, the worse I feel when it gets this cold!!! Well, at least it isn't snowing, that would just totally ruin my day...

Got home from work today, waited for my wife to get home so we could walk the dogs out at the lake... Man it was 68 degrees today, it felt so good... We had a real nice walk and the dogs got some swim time in the 40 degree water!!! They are Labs and they sure love the water but thats cold!!! Anyway they are really good dogs, just dumb as stumps... Now the wife says shes making one of my favorites for dinner... Does it get any better, Heck I might even get lucky later the way this day is going...

After busting my back all day, the guy on the nightshift that relieves me called in sick and there was no one to fill in for him, so I got stuck doing half of his shift after just finishing mine!!! The weather was so nice and I was stuck inside!!! The Jeep is still dirty from the weekend and today would've been great for a wash... Oh well, guess I'll have a beer...

The weatherman says temps in the 60's, maybe even 70 for this week, and then chance of snow for the weekend... Snow!!! Crap, I was just starting to like this global warming thing...
