DAMN I LOVE MY JEEP!! I actually managed to change my oil, almost solo. Minus
the trip to napa to get a new socket to match the oil pan bolt all went
smoothly. Then it started snowing!! So I fuelled up. The check engine light came on, I took it
offroading to see how it was going to do in highway snow!! Good times were had.
I think I didnt tighten the gas cap enough again. So we will see if that check
engine light goes off over the next couple of days again (it did the exact same
thing a few weeks ago) The great news is its running super smooth and actually
quieter with the new oil. Oil pressure and engine temp is still running at the
same as it was pre change... so not it. I love jeep gremlins!
Im just curious bud, where was
there snow in the Napa area? or do
we finally have snow near tahoe on
highway 80?

thanks for the advice red... light
went out again today. exactly 3
days after it started, just like
it did less than 3 weeks ago. The
oil level is fine but I checked
the rest of the fluids and it
needed coolant. Its running
better than it was 3 weeks ago.
Starts better, has stopped with
the annoying sputtering (I ran a
fuel injector cleaner through) and
runs quieter than it did pre the
work I've put into it. Even made
it up a driveway in reverse that
it could not make 3 weeks ago and
is getting better milage by almost
20 miles a tank. I'm sure if the
engine problem was real I would
know. I had a YJ that would stall
out in straight lines every time
it rained and the check engine
light NEVER came on.

just because the check engine
light goes out does not mean that
the problem has gone away. have a
mechanic check for dtc codes
because there probably are a few
codes stored with the light off.
P.S. I'm a mechanic, I went to
school for this stuff so take my
advice and have a certified
mechanic take a look at the codes
even if the light does go out
again.

Already checked, not it. Gremlins.
I need to get the computer read to
see whats causing it but again I'm
going to wait the 3 days that it
took for it to turn off. If you
read my back logs you know that
I'm also having wiring?? problems
as i have no turn signals.

Check the oil level immedeatley!
Oil pressure has nothing to do
with oil level! Maybe you are
running your engine at to low or
to high oil levels. Avoid both!
